Recently retired after 17 years as Assistant to the Director at the CU Museum of Natural History, I am now very happy to share my love and knowledge of contemplative, healing movement with the CU Community.Ìý

IÌýfirst discovered yoga as a college student in 1975 at the University of South Florida where I was a member of the yoga club (BA with honors, 1976). IÌýstudiedÌýmovement and dance at USF and then on to Naropa University (then Naropa Institute) in Boulder, CO where I was certified in Movement Studies (1980).

I joined the Naropa faculty in 1982 teaching Dance/ Movement Studies technique, improvisation, contemplative dance, ritual theater, overseeing student performances, and running the study abroad arts programs in Bali and Nepal. Since being a true teacher means being always a student, these years were filled with studies in alignment, meditation, embodiment, mindfulness, movement technique, somatic awareness, contact improvisation, Body-Mind Centering, developmental movement, contemplative dance, Balinese arts, Alexander techniqueÌýand many other practices. I was privileged to workÌýclosely with Nancy Stark Smith, one of the original practitioners of Contact Improvisation, a form of movement I continue to explore, as well as with Barbara Dilley, former president of Naropa University and postmodern dance pioneer. ÌýI had the good fortune to take master classes with Moshe Feldenkrais, Steve Paxton, Simone Forti, Robert Ellis Dunn, and more.ÌýI haveÌýteaching certifications in KaiutÌý(100KT)Ìýand Avita (200RYT) yoga.

I look forward to every practice as we move toward health and vitality together.
