Tell me about your research

The Anseth Group specializes in the development of innovative biomaterials for engineered cell culture and tissue regeneration. The primary focus is investigating cell-material interactions and developing systems and techniques to further study these processes. ÌýWe use engineering and modeling to explore how cells behave and change over time, from the smallest molecules to entire tissues.

How could your research make a difference in everyday life?

The research we do and materials we use can impact how therapeutics and diseases are studied and treated.Ìý
Ìý

What keeps you busy outside of research?

I was actively involved in the Engineering Leadership Program, Presidents Leadership Class and the undergraduate chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). I was also able to take a Science Policy class in Washington DC!

What is your favorite memory from ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ?

My favorite memory was going to class and studying with my friends. Engineers are extremely busy, so building a strong community of friends helps you get through the hard times.Ìý

What is your biggest piece of advice for future engineering buffs?

Classes are important, but make sure to prioritize down time and time with your friends. You will remember time with your friends more than any homework assignment or exam.Ìý
