Tana SchultzÌýis the previous owner and chairwoman of Lighthearted Entertainment, a Southern California-based television development and production company. A former public high school teacher, Tana has a small hobby farm, Lighthearted Ranch, where she grows organic produce, raises chickens, goats and has two rescue potbelly pigs.
She is President of SOIL Boulder, a nonprofit whose mission is to support local food systems by making 0% loans to farmers and local food entrepreneurs. Her passion for sustainable living is reflected in her advocacy for local farming, restorative land management, and biodynamic agriculture, as well as her involvement as a board member of the Slow Money Institute.
Tana earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and developed a strong connection to the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ through her late husband, Howard Schultz (Comm’78), and their two sons, who are also ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ alumni. From 2017 to 2020, she served a three-year term as a trustee of the University of Colorado Foundation.
As a member of the CMCI Advisory Board, Tana is dedicated to empowering students to pursue meaningful careers and supporting initiatives that connect education, creativity, and sustainability.
