Hunter ReevesÌý(he/him/his) is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Advertising, Public Relations, and Media Design at the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ.ÌýHis research focuses on public relations as an organizational function, with an emphasis on how institutions navigate complex, long-term reputational challenges and crises. He is particularly interested in education and cultural organizations, including zoos, natural history museums, and nonprofits.

Reeves previously held public relations positions in several industries, including entertainment, government, community development, insurance and financial services, and higher education. Most recently, he led the social media strategy, crisis management, and public relations efforts of a higher education institution in the Midwest. Reeves formerly taught courses at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also enjoys being active in his community and has held several board positions in organizations related to the arts, diversity and inclusion, marketing, and student success.

Reeves received a B.A. from Nebraska Wesleyan University in communication studies and modern languages with an emphasis in Spanish and an M.A. in strategic communication and innovation from Texas Tech University. He is a Gilman Scholar, which took him to Spain for a year to explore the nation’s welcoming nature towards LGBTQ+ students.

In his free time, Reeves enjoys traveling, spending time with his beagle, exploring new restaurants, and vintage shopping.
