Dr. Leah Peña Teeters is the Outreach and Education Director. Leah’s passion for collaborative design, compassionate pedagogy, rigorous and participatory research, and systematic approaches to creating caring futures brought her to the Crown Institute. She received herÌýundergraduateÌýdegree in history and her Master's in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity with endorsements in Special Education and Linguistically Diverse Education. She taught history in Central Mexico and Linguistically Diverse Education in ruralÌýColorado. She earned her doctorate in Learning Sciences and Human Development from the University ofÌýColoradoÌýBoulder. Dr. Teeters completed a medicalÌýfellowship in translational and clinicalÌýresearchÌýin the Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University.ÌýHer work in theÌýCrownÌýInstituteÌýfocuses on training the next generation of scholars and practitioners.
