VRIP Application Process

  1. STEP 1

    Determine Eligibility

  2. STEP 2

    Consult with your financial & benefits advisors in conjunction while applying

  3. STEP 3

    Submit an application

    • Feel free to apply while scheduling a consultation with your retirement specialist and financial advisor
    • After you apply, Employee Services will check to see if you are eligible or not for retirement benefits.They will send an email to you and notify central HR. *Please allow 5 business days for this process to take place.*
    • Your department will consider potential business justifications for approving or denying your VRIP application; this business justification will then be reviewed by campus executive leadership.
    • You will receive notification of approval/denial by October 14.
  4. STEP 4

    Application reviewed by unit/department leaders

    • Unit must approve the business case to qualify the applicant for the voluntary retirement incentive
    • Human Resources will also confirm eligibility 
  5. STEP 5

    Dean/Vice Chancellor(s) will approve or deny application

  6. STEP 6

    Provost and Chief Operating Officer will approve or deny application

  7. STEP 7

    Final Approval

    Chancellor will approve or deny application
