Arctic sea ice trend depicted through art
The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the globe, and one serious consequence is sea ice loss. The , part of the at ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ, tracks how Arctic sea ice is changing over time. NSIDC worked with contemporary painter Kendall Kippley to share an artistic interpretation of sea ice loss via a mural in downtown Boulder. The mural was inspired by an visualizing average Arctic sea ice extent from 1979 to 2020.
