Andrew Mayock

Andrew Mayock is the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ’s vice chancellor for sustainability.

In the inaugural role, Mayock will be charged with establishing a university-wide sustainability leadership role, forming solid partnerships with faculty, positioning ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ as a national and global sustainability leader, directly assisting local communities to make Colorado the most sustainable state in the U.S., and funding priority sustainability initiatives through internal and external sources.   

Formerly the Chief Sustainability Officer of the U.S. Government, Mayock led President Biden’s sustainability agenda. In that role, Andrew is focused on electrifying the government’s 640,000 cars and trucks and 300,000 buildings and powering them with clean energy; making the government’s supply chain more climate-smart and resilient and increasing climate impact through domestic and international public and private sector partners through partnerships. 

Andrew brings over 25 years of public and private sector experience to ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ. During the Obama Administration, Andrew served in senior leadership roles at the White House, U.S. Treasury Department and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. In the Clinton Administration, Andrew also worked at the White House and the U.S. Treasury Department. In addition to public services, Andrew has served international and domestic public sector clients through his work at Booz Allen Hamilton and McKinsey & Co.

Andrew has served multiple presidential transitions, including the incoming Obama and Biden transition teams. He also co-led the presidential transition for the Obama administration from his OMB role.

Andrew received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, law degree from The George Washington University Law School, and a masters in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
