CMCI offers six undergraduate majors to prepare students with the expertise and versatility they will need to thrive in a rapidly evolving communication landscape.

Students learn to collaborate effectively in groups, leverage resources and develop new understandings of how people interact with each other, media and technology.

Each degree at CMCI is designed for creators, connectors and problem solvers.
 

Communication

You communicate well, and you’re ready to expand your practice. Critically consider how our conversations, symbols and human interactions influence our surrounding cultures.

Media Production

You see innovative ways to help media evolve, but you just need a place to explore. Learn how and why some creative practices work well, and create new, innovative forms of media.

Information Science

You connect the dots of data and analyze the meaning behind complex interactions between people and information sources.

Journalism

You tell stories and you tell them well. Bridge traditional concepts with emerging methods, becoming an effective storyteller of the 21st century.

Media Studies

You love media, so why not analyze them? Explore how media shape the way people think, act and relate to the world.

Strategic Communication

You like to tell the stories of brands and organizations creatively, while overcoming any issues or challenges.

Be Involved

Students will still have the opportunity to build community and get involved. Many of our student clubs and media organizations will be holding virtual club meetings, holding online events, and supporting peers through community building on social media and via the campus Zoom platform.

Many club meetings may occur online.  We are committed to continuing this important leadership and community building opportunities for students.

The Vault

 

Equipment / Labs

As a CMCI student, you will gain access to podcasting booths, broadcasting studios, an immersive media lab, equipment vaults and more.  The equipment vaults"include hundreds of cameras, audio and light equipment, along with other gear, available for all CMCI students to check out free to rent. Develop your portfolio and experience by learning and practicing various brands and styles.

CMCI CommRAP

CMCI CommRAP is a living-learning community housed in Buckingham Hall.

Residential Academic Programs (RAPs), like CMCI’s CommRAP, are one way that the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ provides first-year students with the support and individualized attention found in a smaller college atmosphere.
