The Martin Lockley Fossil Track Collection contains over 3,000 cataloged specimens. Most of the collection was collected from the Rocky Mountain Region, with extensive collections of Pennsylvanian (Pottsville Formation), Permian (Abo Formation), Triassic (Chinle Formation), Jurassic (Entrada, Navajo, Nugget, and Wingate Sandstones, Kayenta, Moenave, Morrison, and Summerville Formations), Cretaceous (Dakota Group, Cedar Mountain and Laramie Formations), Eocene (Green River Formation), Miocene (Brown’s Park and Muddy Creek Formations) specimens. Other important track collections include Cretaceous-aged tracks from China and South Korea.
