The ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Police Department (CUPD) is responsible for protecting the students, faculty, staff and guests to our campus, detecting crime, regulating traffic, and dealing with a variety of problems. The purpose of the CUPD Professional Standards divisionÌýis to investigate allegations of improper conduct by the members of this department.Ìý
In every instance, we strive to work in a positive partnership with our community. We would love to know about any positive interactions that you have with our employees or about a suggestion that you have for us. We also understand that objections may arise to the actions of our employees or you may feel that our conduct is inappropriate. For this reason, we make every effort to ensure a thorough, fair and timely investigation of the allegation(s) that are reported to us.Ìý

This form is intended to allow you to report any compliments, comments, or complaints related to the police department and public safety. This is not the place to complete a complaint or commendation for non-public safety information.
You are allowed to submit the form anonymously, but we ask that you share your contact information with us so that we may be able to ask you additional questions if needed or provide you with follow-up after closing the matter.
- You have the right to pursue any complaint through a private attorney or directly to CUPD. This form is the first step to contacting the CUPD Professional Standards division. If you would prefer, you may also call our Dispatch non-emergency number at 303-492-6666 and request to speak with the on-duty supervisor.Ìý The on-duty shift supervisor can facilitate receipt of your complaint at any time of the day or night, including weekends and holidays.Ìý
This complaint form is an official record of the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Police Department. Intentional false statements or allegations that are made within this statement may be subject to prosecution under the Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS).
We respect your privacy. To that end, this form and the CUPD investigation will remain confidential except as necessary to resolve your complaint. However, you should be aware that as an official record of CUPD, this information may be subject to the state of Colorado’s Open Records Act (CRS 24-72-201 to 24-72-309) and may be disclosable upon request.
If probable cause is found to charge a CUPD employee based on this complaint, you may be asked to appear as a witness at a subsequent hearing with the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Police Department Professional Standards divisionÌýor any subsequent criminal court proceeding.Ìý
