How to Apply to the Program

Who We Serve

We serve undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • neither parent graduated from a four-year college;
  • qualifyÌýas low-income under federal income guidelines;
  • haveÌýa documented disability on file with CU's Office of Disability Services.

In addition to the above criteria, we also serve students who:

  • haveÌýfoster youth, unaccompanied, and/or independent status;
  • ²¹°ù±ðÌý³ó´Ç³¾±ð±ô±ð²õ²õ;
  • Military veterans.

How to Apply to the Program

Students must apply and meet eligibility requirements to participate.Ìý All applications will also be reviewed for eligibility for theÌý. Applications are reviewed year-round on a space available basis.

A complete application to the TRiO SSS Program includes:

Application Form - Completed by StudentÌý

  • Complete fillable online form, then download all three documents.

Income Verification - Completed by Student and Guardians/Parents

  • Parent’s  most recent Federal Income Tax Return.ÌýFor example, if you are applying for participation beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year,Ìýplease submit the 2024 Federal Income Tax Return.ÌýIf you are an independent student, send a copy of your 2024 Federal Income Tax return.Ìý

  • 2025-2026 FAFSA.ÌýPlease sign and date the FAFSA before sending.Ìý

Academic Need Verification - Completed by Student and/or Counselor

  • Please mark any factors that may indicate additional needed support for academic success.Ìý

*Due to program participation, we are only accepting incoming freshman who have just graduated from high school in 2025. ÌýMore information coming in spring 2026 for transfer and current ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ students.Ìý

  • Summer Ready Orientation - May 19, 2025

  • Summer Ready - June 8-13, 2025 Ìý(Mandatory for all new participants)

Summer Programming

We accept a limited number of students each year to our Summer Ready cohort to provide a more personalized experience.Ìý Those who are not accepted into Summer Ready will be considered for our Fall Gateway program, a 2 -day academic intensive program the week prior to the start of fall semester.
