STEM Education Intern (Spanish Speaking)

Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week
Expected pay: $16-18 per hour
Location: Hybrid; Onsite: 1560 30th Street, Boulder

Are you interested in supporting community STEM programs for K-12 students around the state? Are you bilingual in Spanish and English?

Join the Science Discovery team as a STEM Intern (Spanish Speaking) and help with translations and live interpretations in an effort to make our STEM programs more accessible for Spanish-speaking children and families.

Examples of responsibilities include:Ìý

  • Creating Spanish-language versions of STEM activity handouts and slides
  • Attending occasional outreach events and providing Spanish-language support and interpretation
  • Translating forms and parent resources from English to Spanish
  • Additional administrative support tasks for the School and Teacher programs as needed

Preferred Qualifications:Ìý

  • Native Spanish speaker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with or around young kids
  • Enthusiasm for STEM and youth education

This position requires approximately 5 hours per week, with the possibility for more depending on your availability and interest. This hybrid position allows for both in-office time and time to work from home. The pay rate is $16-18 per hour. Work-Study Eligible.

Are you interested in supporting STEM programs for K-12 students around our community? Would you like to do hands-on science activities with kids? Join the Science Discovery team as a STEM Education Intern and support CU Science Discovery's community outreach events!

Examples of responsibilities include:Ìý

  • Communicating with and coordinating CU student volunteers
  • Assisting in organizing activities and materials for STEM nights
  • Attending STEM outreach events such as family science nights or science days and facilitating table-top activities
  • Additional administrative support tasks for the School and Teacher programs as needed

Preferred Qualifications:Ìý

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience organizing information in spreadsheets
  • Experience working with or around young kids
  • Enthusiasm for STEM and youth education
  • A reliable form of transportation to get to and from events (access to a car)
  • Additional languages spoken are a plus

This position requires approximately 5 hours per week, with the possibility for more depending on your availability and interest. This hybrid position allows for both in-office time and time to work from home. You will be asked to attend STEM outreach events as a Science Discovery representative. These events occur a few times each semester and are often in the evenings or on weekends. The pay rate is $16-18 per hour. Work-Study Eligible.
