Summer Opportunities

Summer Instructors Â
Instructor hiring for summer 2025 is happening now!Â
K-12 summer camp and high school class instructors teach one or more weeks during the summer season, depending on their interests and availability. Instructors are typically STEM graduate students or pre-/in-service/retired teachers who are passionate about sharing their STEM expertise with others.
Teaching Assistants Â
Science Discovery hires undergraduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) to work alongside instructors in the classroom and provide overall support to K-12 summer camps and high school classes.
Mentoring Opportunity for CU Researchers Â
Research Mentor applications are now being accepted for the summer 2025Â STEM Research Experience. In this 6-week program, CU faculty and graduate students mentor highly motivated high school students interested in gaining real world STEM research experience.
STEM Crew Volunteers Â
Science Discovery offers high school students and adults of all ages volunteer opportunities to assist with K-12Â summer camps and high school classes.Â
Operations and Administrative Staff
Operations and administrative support staff are the backbone of the Science Discovery summer program! Most summer programs have quite a few moving parts, but a campus-based program provides challenges of a different type. Summer support staff serve in roles such as:
- Registrar
- Materials acquisition, coordination and management
- Materials packing and distribution
- Medication administration and behavioral needs coordinationÂ
- Camp logistics coordination
